Assistive Technology for Visual, Hearing and Physical Impairment
Course Overview:
This Assistive Technology event will outline the latest technologies for students with a visual, hearing or physical impairment in a classroom environment. This is an Engineers Ireland accredited continuous professional development event. Established in 1835, Engineers Ireland is one of the longest established professional bodies in Ireland and the UK.

Learning Outcomes:
Following the successful completion of this event, participants will have broadened their knowledge of assistive technology interventions for visual, hearing and physical impairment.
Participant Requirements:
This is an online workshop where participants are required to have a Windows 10 or Mac computer, a suitable internet connection, a computer speaker and a microphone. A notebook and pen is also an imperative requirement. The course format would entail presentations and video demonstrations.

About Instructor:
The instructor for the training course has over 12 years experience in teaching assistive technology to audiences from primary to third level education as well as the corporate sector. He holds an honours degree in Computer Science and a Masters degree in Computer Science from University College Cork, Ireland. He is also accredited as an Assistive Technology Professional with RESNA which is one of the leading assistive technology professional bodies.
