Course Overview:
This workshop provides an overview on the use of voice recognition software with particular emphasis on Dragon Professional Voice Recognition. It outlines the principles and practicalities of use for students, parents and teachers. Medical and legal professionals may also find immense benefit in this workshop. The workshop will be comprised of presentation and demonstration. It will also incorporate activity question and answer sessions. The workshop will outline how to set up the Dragon user profile, configuring sound and microphone, as well tips on using for State Examinations.

Learning Outcomes:
Following the successful completion of this event, participants will have broadened their knowledge of voice recognition interventions for students. They will also be able to train students in the basic use of Dragon. This would include setting up a user profile, voice recognition commands as well as identifying and resolving common issues.
Participant Requirements:
This is an online workshop where participants are required to have a Windows 10 or Mac computer, a suitable internet connection, a computer speaker and a microphone. A notebook and pen is also an imperative requirement.

About Instructor:
The instructor for the training course has over 12 years experience in teaching assistive technology to audiences from primary to third level education as well as the corporate sector. He holds an honours degree in Computer Science and a Masters degree in Computer Science from University College Cork, Ireland. He is also accredited as an Assistive Technology Professional with RESNA which is one of the leading assistive technology professional bodies.
